A very very rainy day!

Hi all, as most of you will know today has been a very wet one but me and my dad still some how managed to do some bird watching.

RSPB Sandwell Valley- Black headed gull x1, House martin 5+, Gadwall x2, Mute swan x1, Tufted duck 5+, Swallow 5+, oystercatcher (heard), blackcap (heard), wren x1, Lapwing 5+. (hide was closed).

Bartley green reservoir- Lesser black backed gull 5+, herring gull 5+, black bird x1.

Fens pools- Garden warbler x1, blue tit 5+ (new fledglings), Great tit x2, Great crested grebe x1, Lesser black backed gull x1, herundines 50+.

Just before I finish the post im not sure whether any of you have noticed but black headed gull numbers have randomly dropped lately, I have noticed this because it used to be almost impossible to count their numbers at Sandwell valley and Bartley green reservoir, and when we could count their numbers there was around 60 or 70 all gouped together. So in conclusion can anyone tell me why all the black headed gulls have disapeared, is this because of migration or even moving onto to breading grounds. I would be greatful for any helpful comments on this post.

Many thanks

Jason
