No outings but a bit of Garden birding.

Hi readers, me and Dad have decided against going out birding today, the harsh snowy conditions are a little to much for us. I was hoping to get over to Upton Warren today in search of the Bittern that has been around there but sadly it was not to be.

I have also heard news of a Cettis Warbler making an appearance at Sandwell Valley again, this did surprise me because it is likely that it is the same bird as before and that bird has not been seen or heard for months. I am hoping to go for a search for it next Sunday, it would be a good year tick and a nice bird to see.

Although I haven't been out this weekend I did have a good bird in my Garden this weekend and in fact it is still in our apple tree at this moment. The bird is a Fieldfair and it is the first I have seen this year and the first I have ever seen in my garden. It appeared at around midday yesterday and began feeding on the apples on the tree, any other bird that tried to do the same ended up being chased of by the Fieldfaire.

Another bird that actually turned up on the roof of our house today was a Greenfinch, this bird may be common but its the first time I have seen one in the area I live in. A Pied Wagtail also turned up round my street yesterday, again this bird may be common but I don't often see them outside my house.

The only reason I can think it has appeared (especially by its self) is because it is in need of food in this cold weather. I am hopeful that it stays in the garden for a while seen as it is a nice bird to see. So not to many outings this weekend but I'm hoping that by next weekend the weather has calmed down a little so me and dad can go out birding again, the Bittern at Upton Warren is very tantalising I really want to see it seen as it has been over 2 years since I last saw one, lets hope we get it.

I also figured out how to get images on my Blog, all you have to do is click the HTML button and upload the image that way, after uploading the image turn back to compose and like on this post the image appears.
