Migration excitement

Hi readers, seen as the migration seems to be kicking in, in the UK I thought I would do a quick post that will let me let off some excitement. I'm still a young birder and I still have a lot to see, I may have seen a lot of rarer birds but lets not forget the common birds are just as good. I thought I would highlight a few birds I really want to get a look at this year so hope you enjoy the read,

Pied Flycatcher- This stunning bird is something I have never got the chance to see, I have always wanted to go and see one so am hoping a chance pops up this year.

Wood Warbler- A real beauty of the Warblers in the UK again I have never had the chance to go and see one so the next one that pops up somewhere close I may try and get a shot at seeing it.

Marsh Harrier- A bird I have in fact had the chance to see but sadly it was on a bad birding day for me, I don't want to go in detail but I didn't see it and I am desperate to get one this year.

Hen Harrier- I have never had the chance to see this bird, I am aware of a few turning up in Staffordshire most years but I never really gone to see one so it would be nice to get one this year.

Arctic Tern- A bird that already has been popping up in good numbers this year so hopefully when the next one turns up I shall give it a go.

Grasshopper Warbler-  A bird I have almost seen quite a few times mainly at Clayhanger Marsh, I have already heard the call and I know the bird was very close but it was well hidden in bushes. I know from Chaz Masons blog (Clayhnger Marsh Log) that's statistically today is in fact the mean date for Grasshopper Warblers turning up at Clayanger so I am hoping to get one as soon as they turn up, lets hope eh.

Anyway that's a few birds I want to get this year, the main one on that list is definitely Marsh Harrier, the bird eluded me and I will (hopefully) win the battle with the species. I recently got some new Bins (8x42) which I am excited to get using while out birding. Anyway there should be some sort of post this weekend I'm not exactly sure where me and dad are planning to go but you shall find out soon.

Thanks for reading and enjoy your weekend all- WMBB
