Birding today.

Here's what me and my dad saw today while bird watching.

RSPB Sandwell valley- Reed warbler x3, Lapwing 10+, Common tern x3 adults (1 chick), Pied wagtail x2, Great crested grebe x1, LRP x3 (one on a nest), swift x2, Jay x2, Oystercatcher x2 adults (3 chicks), Whitethroat x1, Tufted ducks 10+, Coot 10 + (around 3 nests and lots of chicks), Pochard x1, Black headed gull x1, Mallard 5+, Canada goose 30+, Buzzard x1, lesser black backed gull 5+, Moorhen 5+.

Bartley green reservoir- Lesser black backed gull, Mallard 5+, Canada goose x2. (very quiet).

I thinks it was great to see the oystercatcher chicks today and seen as they have reached a size that makes them almost adults they should survive without any predators taking them, also its good news that a common tern chick has fledged but worryingly we could only see one chick when 3 have been reported, but the parents remain very protective and we hope to see the chick successfully fledge from the nest. Also we are hopeful that the LRP's (or Little ringed plovers) will have a sucessful brude this year seen as in previous years they have not been sucessful lets hope this year they will be.

Thanks for reading.
