Birding today.

Hi all today me John Holian, and Sharon Holian went out birdwatching. We firstly went to see a Marsh harrier at Aqualate mere, which everyone else saw apart from me. I don't know what it was I just could not get on that bird, but hopefully I will get another chance to see a Marsh harrier soon. We did see other species on the site that are worth noting.

Aqualate mere- Great spotted woodpecker x3, Great crested grebe 5+, Mute swan 30+, Canada goose 20+, Herudines 100's, Marsh tit x1, Cormorant 10+, Cuckoo x1, Buzzard x2, Reed warbler x3, Reed bunting x2, Grey Heron x2, and obviously a Marsh harrier was seen flying over the far reeds (not seen by me dam!), also a Peregrine falcon was seen by John and Sharon.

The Cuckoo was really close to us in fact it was on the top of the tree in front of the hide and when we moved forward to look at the bird it flew away.

After looking a Aqualate mere we heard news of a Red backed shrike down high lane near black bank (Stoke), and what do you know we saw the bird which made up for the mishap with the Marsh harrier.

That's another new bird for me, hope you are all having a good week- end folks.

Thanks for reading.
