Birding today.

Hi all, heres what me and my Dad saw today while birdwatching.

RSPB Sandwell Valley- Green woodpecker x1, Swift 20+, House martin 10+, Grey heron x1, Cettis warbler x1 (heard only), Mute swan x3, Blackcap x2, Oystercatcher x2, Comon tern x2 (and 1 chick), Buzzard x3, Lapwing 5+, Canada goose 10+, Lesser black backed gull 10+, Black headed gull x10, Great crested grebe x1, Tufted duck 5+, coot 5+ (one nest next to common tern nest, also other coot chicks are around), chiffchaff x1 (heard only), Reed warbler x2.

Bartley green reservoir- Lesser black backed gull 5+, Mallard x2, blackbird x1, whitethorat x1, Greenfinch x1.

I did notice today that I didn't see the Common tern adult protecting the chick as much as usual, also for most of the time only one adult was around. I thought this was strange so I will keep an eye on this simply because the chick was out in the open with Lesser black backed gulls flying all over the place. The oystercatcher chicks have all started flying which could mean they will be gone soon, The Cettis warbler was around the same area as usual but was to deep in the bushes for us to see.

Also I am not sure where the LRP's were today but as usual the nest is very complicated to locate even when you already know where it is.

Thanks for reading.
