Hi all, heres what me and my dad saw while birdwatching today.
RSPB Sandwell valley- Cettis warbler (heard) x1, Common tern x4, Swift 20+, Oyster catcher (2 adults and 3 yougsters), Grey heron x2, Tufted duck 10+, Black headed gull 10+, Great crested grebe x2 (one juv (or more teenager)), Lapwing 5+ (2 chicks), LRP (2 adults and 1 chick), House marting 10+, Willow warbler (heard) x1, Chiffchaff (heard) x1.
Edgebaston reservoir- Lesser black backed gull 5+, House martin 20+, Coot 20+, Moorhen x1, Tufted duck x1, Great crested grebe x1.
While walking back to the car at RSPB Sandwell valley me and dad heard a Chiffchaff calling (written above), but what I did notice was that the Chiffchaff didn't sing its normal call, rather than calling chiffchaff it called chiff- chiff- chaff repeatadly. This to me seemed strange behaviour so if anyone knows as to why the bird was calling like this it would be helpful if you were to tell me.
Thanks for reading.
There will also be an update on Sneyd reservoir birding blog. :)
