Water rail nest cam on Springwatch!

Hi readers, I may have been moaning about the layout of the web page for the Springwatchs online webcams this year but I have to say I am chuffed with one of the nest cams they are displaying on the site. I'm not sure whether I mentioned that I had a feeling that Water Rail would be a nest cam this year due to Chris Packhams clue on Twitter the other day. And I am so happy to say I was right.

On last nights show Springwatch said that on average only 2 nests are found for Water rail each year and I'm not sure whether this was specific to their current location or the whole country. Anyway it's obvious that this low number of nests found each year is down to how secretive the birds are, statistically they are a quite common bird but they are just so hard to see.

I am really looking forward to watching the nest for the next few days because we could end up witnessing unseen behaviour from these birds and that can only be a good thing.

Thanks for reading and enjoy your week all- WMBB
