birding yesterday

yesterday i went birding with John Holian in search of 4 brent geese at essington quarry pool. we later found out that the geese were just fly overs so we didnt see them but we saw a few other birds instead.

essington quarry pool- pintail x1 (drake), tufted duck 10+, great crested grebe x2, mallard 5+, oystercatcher x2, canada goose 2+.

we also heard a very strange warbler that first calls like a willow warbler and then finnishes off calling like a chiff chaff we heard this for our selves and it really comfused us.

thanks for reading i will update the uk national and local bird news pages tomorow.
